Biography

Dr. Monisha Kottayi is working as an Assistant Professor in the School of Liberal Studies and Education, Navrachana University, Vadodara since July 2017.She has also served as an Assistant Professor in Justice Basheer Ahmed Sayeed College for Women, Chennai, Anand Mercantile College , Anand ,Lady Amritbai Daga College, Nagpur and as a visiting faculty ,Post Graduate Teaching Department of Botany, RTM Nagpur University with a total teaching experience of 10 years.She is a gold medallist from Nagpur University in M.Sc. (Botany).

Her doctoral research focused on the late leaf spot in Arachis hypogaea and the defense gene expression in response to Cercosporidium personatum in co-ordination with the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Mumbai. She has guided many B.Sc. and M.Sc. dissertation projects at LAD college and Anand Mercantile College.

Research Interests

Plant defense, Plant tissue culture, Plant breeding, Mutation studies for inducing disease resistance and Plant Genetics.
